Waiting room and front desk
Light Jazz
Piano, nylon guitar or electric piano with upright bass and brushes, played lightly with an easy swing or a soft bossa lilt.
Comparison
Two business music services side by side, from each company's own pages as they read on October 11, 2026. eleMusic wrote this page and is one of the two.
Last reviewed October 13, 2026.
SiriusXM Music for Business is streaming or satellite radio for businesses, healthcare among them, with what SiriusXM calls "240+ business-friendly channels spanning more than a dozen genres". eleMusic is a browser player for US dental practices with 8 stations of original instrumental music, generated and mastered by eleMusic, with no commercial recordings, priced per location at $15 a month for 1 device or $24 for up to 5 devices, plus applicable sales tax (list prices as of October 12, 2026). As listed on October 11, 2026, SiriusXM Music for Business starts at $26.95 a month per subscription, plus fees and taxes, and its business agreement allows streaming on "one device at a time per Subscription, unless otherwise described in our offer." SiriusXM says its rate includes public performance royalties paid to ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, GMR and SoundExchange, while eleMusic does not register its generated catalog with ASCAP, BMI, SESAC or GMR, or any other performing rights organization, and an eleMusic subscription is not a license from one.

eleMusic wrote this page, and eleMusic is one of the two services it compares. We are not affiliated with SiriusXM or with any of its resellers. Every SiriusXM fact below comes from SiriusXM's own website, its help center or its business customer agreement as they read on October 11, 2026, with one exception that we label where it appears: an annual price listed by Dynamic Media, an authorized reseller that SiriusXM's own page links to. Prices and terms change, so check SiriusXM's current pages before you decide.
This page is about SiriusXM's business service. Whether a home SiriusXM plan can play at the practice is a different question, answered from SiriusXM's consumer agreement in our guide Pandora, Apple Music, YouTube and SiriusXM in a dental office.
Each SiriusXM cell quotes or summarizes SiriusXM's own pages. Each eleMusic cell comes from our pricing, Terms of Service and Refund and Cancellation Policy.
| Topic | SiriusXM Music for Business | eleMusic |
|---|---|---|
| Who sells it | Sirius XM Radio LLC, and authorized resellers. The "Shop now" button on its business page opens Dynamic Media (sxmbusiness.com), and the page also names Sonu Media and PlayNetwork (Mood Media). | eleMusic Inc., directly, in the web player at elemusic.fm/play. |
| List price | "Starting at $26.95/mo." Its offer details add: "Fees and taxes apply." | Solo $15 a month for 1 device, Practice $24 for up to 5 devices, Clinic $49 for up to 15 devices. Extra devices $4 a month each. Prices in US dollars, plus applicable sales tax. |
| What one price covers | One subscription. Streaming: "one device at a time per Subscription, unless otherwise described in our offer." Satellite: "A separate Subscription is required for each radio." | One location, sized by how many devices play at once. A device is one stream: a tablet feeding the ceiling speakers in several rooms counts once. |
| Annual billing | Its agreement names two payment plans, "Monthly" and "Annual". Dynamic Media, a reseller, lists an "Annual Billing option: $323.40". | Annual plans cost ten times the monthly price, so two months are free. Solo $150, Practice $240 or Clinic $490 a year. |
| Music | "240+ channels with exclusive business content", Pandora stations "based on your favorite artists", and "70+ ad-free music channels" by satellite. | 8 stations of original instrumental music. No vocals, no ads, no commercial recordings. |
| Licensing, in each company's words | "All the royalties are included in your Music for Business monthly rate." | eleMusic is PRO-free: it never registers its tracks with ASCAP, BMI, SESAC or GMR, so there is no performing rights fee for the music you play through eleMusic. A subscription is not a license from any performing rights organization. |
| Devices and players | A streaming radio such as the BR3 player, a computer with the Web Player, the SiriusXM app on Android or iOS, Sonos, or a satellite radio with an outdoor antenna. | A tablet or laptop at elemusic.fm/play, joined with the access code and able to cast to a TV. There is no player to buy. |
| Internet | Needed for streaming. For businesses without high-speed internet, the satellite service is "available in all states except Alaska and Hawaii". | Needed. There is no satellite option. |
| Where it may play | "as background music in your business or in on-hold messaging on your business telephone system". The same section excludes businesses or events that charge admission, such as nightclubs and fitness classes. | Inside the practice's own US location, through the eleMusic player. Music on hold and phone systems are not included. |
| Trial | A "free 30-day Streaming trial", requested through a form. Neither its business page nor its trial page says whether a card is needed. | 14-day trial. Card required, nothing due at checkout. |
| Contract and cancelling | "No long-term contracts". Plans renew automatically. Cancel by phone, or through a registered online account, if bought from SiriusXM; "To cancel you must contact your Reseller" if bought through one. | Monthly or annual plans renew automatically. Cancel anytime in Manage billing, or by emailing hello@elemusic.fm. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. |
| Refunds | Bought directly: amounts paid in advance are refunded "on a pro-rated basis, less any applicable fees, unless stated otherwise in the specific offer for Service that you accepted". Trial and certain promotional subscriptions are nonrefundable. | "We do not refund the unused part of a month or a year." |
| Where offered | "the United States, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico". | For business locations in the US. |
SiriusXM's business page shows "$26.95/mo." near the top and "Starting at $26.95/mo." further down, and its offer details add: "Fees and taxes apply." The page does not say how many devices that price covers. SiriusXM's Customer Agreement for Music for Business Services does. It names two packages, "Business Streaming" and "Business Satellite", and two payment plans, "Monthly" and "Annual", then sets the unit:
"3. Streaming Service: You may use the Streaming Service on one device at a time per Subscription, unless otherwise described in our offer."
"1. Multiple Subscriptions: You may have multiple radios and multiple Subscriptions. Each Subscription to the Satellite Radio Service is tied to one radio. A separate Subscription is required for each radio. If you have more than one Subscription on your account for your business establishment, the additional Subscriptions are not currently eligible for reduced rates."
SiriusXM Customer Agreement for Music for Business Services, Sections J(3) and G(1), last updated May 1, 2025, read October 11, 2026
SiriusXM's help center answers two related questions this way:
"Online listening is limited to one login at a time per subscription. If your business requires more than one radio or more than one channel playing at a given time, additional subscriptions are required. Each subscription will have its own login credentials."
"SiriusXM Music for Business requires a separate plan per location. Separate plans are also required for multiple radios in the same physical location."
SiriusXM Help Center, articles KC-2251, "Can I get multiple logins for the SiriusXM Music for Business Web Player?", and KC-2086, "Can I play SiriusXM Music for Business in multiple locations?", no dates shown, read October 11, 2026
The only annual price we found was a reseller's, not SiriusXM's. Dynamic Media, the authorized reseller that the "Shop now" button on SiriusXM's page opens, listed a "SiriusXM For Business Subscription" for connected devices at $26.95, with an "Annual Billing option: $323.40", on October 11, 2026. SiriusXM's own page lists "competitive national account pricing" among its benefits for franchise groups, without figures.
eleMusic prices each location by how many devices play at once, with one plan per location. Annual plans cost ten times the monthly price, so two months are free. Five or more locations take 15% off every location. See every plan and the multi-location terms.
Here is a worked example with its assumptions in plain view: list prices before taxes and fees, monthly billing, and SiriusXM's starting price for every subscription. SiriusXM's agreement counts streaming by device ("one device at a time per Subscription") and satellite by radio ("A separate Subscription is required for each radio"), and its FAQ says its equipment "can be easily connected to your existing business audio system/speakers". eleMusic counts devices playing at once. A device is one stream: a tablet feeding the ceiling speakers in several rooms counts once.
| Devices playing at once | SiriusXM Music for Business | eleMusic |
|---|---|---|
| 1, playing for the whole office | $26.95 (1 subscription at the starting price) | $15 (Solo) |
| 5, each playing its own channel or station | $134.75 (5 subscriptions at the $26.95 starting price) | $24 (Practice, up to 5 devices) |
| 15 | $404.25 (15 subscriptions at the $26.95 starting price) | $49 (Clinic, up to 15 devices) |
SiriusXM's agreement leaves room for an offer to say otherwise ("unless otherwise described in our offer"), and a reseller may price differently, so ask for a written quote for your own device count. On eleMusic, a device beyond the plan's allowance is $4 a month or $40 a year, on any plan.
The two prices do not buy the same thing. SiriusXM says its rate includes public performance royalties. eleMusic is PRO-free: it never registers its tracks with ASCAP, BMI, SESAC or GMR, so there is no performing rights fee for the music you play through eleMusic. An eleMusic subscription is not a license from any performing rights organization; the licensing section below quotes both companies.
SiriusXM describes its business service by channel count and genre:
"Now with 240+ business-friendly channels spanning more than a dozen genres, SiriusXM Music for Business is a great fit for every restaurant, office, and retail outlet."
SiriusXM, Music For Business page, "The sound of success just got better", read October 11, 2026
The same page lists "240+ channels with exclusive business content, plus the ability to create Pandora stations based on your favorite artists", and says the satellite service "includes 70+ ad-free music channels". Its FAQ adds: "Streaming subscribers also get access to additional streaming-only music channels." If particular channels matter to you, ask SiriusXM which lineup your plan includes.
eleMusic plays something narrower. Original instrumental music, generated and mastered by eleMusic. No vocals, no ads, no commercial recordings. Every track is generated for eleMusic from our own station recipes, then checked and mastered by us before it reaches you. eleMusic has 8 stations, from Calm and Soft Piano to Light Jazz and Elevator Music. There are no hit songs and no named artists, so if your team wants music it already knows, eleMusic does not have it. How the music is made explains where the tracks come from. Two of the stations, each with a 30 second preview:
Waiting room and front desk
Piano, nylon guitar or electric piano with upright bass and brushes, played lightly with an easy swing or a soft bossa lilt.
Treatment rooms and waiting room
One acoustic piano playing light, flowing melodies with a warm, easy touch.
SiriusXM addresses licensing on its business page and in its help center. Both statements are about its own service:
"It includes the required payments of public performance royalties to rights organizations such as ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, GMR, and SoundExchange, which represent the music copyright holders. All the royalties are included in your Music for Business monthly rate."
SiriusXM, Music For Business page, FAQ "Can I use my consumer SiriusXM subscription in my business?", read October 11, 2026
"For SiriusXM Music for Business subscribers, all PRO licensing fees are included in the monthly plan rate."
SiriusXM Help Center, article KC-2512, "What licensing & performing rights apply to music at a business?", read October 11, 2026
We quote these as written and do not interpret them for your practice.
eleMusic takes a different approach, and it is a material difference. eleMusic is PRO-free: it never registers its tracks with ASCAP, BMI, SESAC or GMR, so there is no performing rights fee for the music you play through eleMusic. Every location with an active plan or trial gets an Original Catalog Certificate in its name, which describes the music and the subscription. What the certificate covers, and what it does not.
eleMusic is PRO-free: it never registers its tracks with ASCAP, BMI, SESAC or GMR, so there is no performing rights fee for the music you play through eleMusic. Radio, TV, music on hold and any other music you play still need their own licenses. We cannot control or verify what others register, and we do not promise that no PRO or other person will contact you or make a claim. The certificate describes our catalog and your subscription; it does not determine your practice's legal obligations. The certificate is not a license from any performing rights organization and is not legal advice.
ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and GMR are trademarks of their respective owners. eleMusic is not affiliated with or endorsed by any performing rights organization.
Our guide Do dental offices need a music license? explains public performance and four US performing rights organizations, ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and GMR, in the statute's and their own words.
SiriusXM's FAQ lists three ways to receive its streaming service:
"To access our streaming service, you have three equipment options: 1) A SiriusXM streaming radio, which requires an internet connection; 2) An internet-connected computer that can access our service via our Web Player (an Ethernet cable is better than WiFi); 3) The SiriusXM app, which can be downloaded and accessed on both Android and iOS tablets and mobile devices."
SiriusXM, Music For Business page, FAQ "Can I install SiriusXM Music for Business equipment myself?", read October 11, 2026
The same page shows a dedicated streaming player, the BR3, which "offers quick and easy setup for your business or office with no computer required", and a Sonos option: "Add SiriusXM to your Sonos App and get high-fidelity sound without running a single wire." For the satellite service, the FAQ adds: "For satellite, you’ll need to make sure the SiriusXM antenna supplied with your radio is mounted outside with a clear view to the sky."
eleMusic runs in a web browser and needs an internet connection. Open elemusic.fm/play on a tablet or laptop connected to a room's speakers and enter the access code; staff need no account. In Chrome or Edge on a computer, or Chrome on an Android tablet, the player can cast to a Chromecast. In Safari on a Mac, iPad or iPhone, it can play to an AirPlay speaker. Casting depends on the browser, the receiver and your network, and we have not tested every combination, so try it on your own TV or speaker before you rely on it. From the front desk, the office can see what every connected room is playing and change its station, play, pause or skip. How it works walks through setup step by step, and our sound setup guide covers connecting each room's device to its speakers, with a room-by-room checklist.
SiriusXM's business agreement allows it. Section J(5) reads:
"5. Business Uses of the Service: The Service may only be used as background music in your business or in on-hold messaging on your business telephone system."
SiriusXM Customer Agreement for Music for Business Services, Section J(5), last updated May 1, 2025, read October 11, 2026
eleMusic does not. The key points of our Terms of Service say: "Music on hold, phone systems, video, social media, broadcast, recording, redistribution and use at any other place are not licensed." (Terms, Section 9.2). If your practice wants hold music and waiting room music from one provider, eleMusic cannot be that provider. Our guide TV, videos and hold music covers that audio separately.
SiriusXM's small print describes its trial this way:
"By registering for a free 30-day Streaming trial, SiriusXM may contact you by email regarding special offers from time to time."
"If you decide to continue service after your trial, the subscription plan you choose will automatically renew and you will be charged according to your chosen payment method at then-current rates."
SiriusXM, Music For Business page, trial offer details in the small print, read October 11, 2026
The trial is "for commercial business use only". SiriusXM's trial page is a form for contact details and a business address, introduced with: "Fill out this form, and we'll reach out to you soon." Neither page says whether a card is needed to start.
On contracts, SiriusXM's business page says "No long-term contracts" and offers "Flexibility to stop service without penalty, unlike other commercial music services that require multi-year commitments." Its agreement adds three details worth reading before you sign:
eleMusic's trial works differently, and its card requirement is a material difference.
New locations start with a 14-day trial. A card is required and nothing is due at checkout. A reminder goes to the billing email before the trial ends, and you can cancel in Manage billing or by emailing hello@elemusic.fm. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the card is charged the plan price when it ends. See the Terms of Service and the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Cancel anytime in Manage billing, or by emailing hello@elemusic.fm. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. eleMusic does not refund the unused part of a month or a year; the Refund and Cancellation Policy lists the charges it does refund in full.
eleMusic is not the right choice for a practice that wants hit songs or named artists, needs music on hold, has no internet at the location, is outside the US, or wants a provider that says it pays public performance royalties to ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and GMR for the music it supplies. It is also not for a practice that wants to try a service before giving a card number: eleMusic's trial needs a card.
For SiriusXM or its reseller:
For your attorney:
We read every SiriusXM page cited here on October 11, 2026: its business page and its trial sign-up page, three help center articles, and its Customer Agreement for Music for Business Services (last updated May 1, 2025), which the business page links to. We copied the words exactly, and we left out sentences we could not print exactly as written. The October 10, 2026 version of this page also quoted two other help center articles. On October 11, 2026 SiriusXM's site did not display them, so we removed what came from them. SiriusXM's page notes that "Features may vary by radio and subscription plan", and its prices can change, so its current pages and your written quote are what count.
The eleMusic facts come from our pricing, our Terms of Service and our Refund and Cancellation Policy on the same date. If you find something on this page that no longer matches SiriusXM's own pages, write to hello@elemusic.fm and we will correct it. Our other comparisons of dental office music services follow the same method.
