Music for the spaces your school shares

Instrumental background music, with the school team in control of when and where it plays.

eleMusic welcomes school teams looking for original instrumental background music in reception, staff rooms and other shared spaces. An adult administrator manages the account, and staff connect each room with one location access code. Staff control when and where the music plays; students do not need accounts. Listen to the stations and choose a first room with your team.

Where could our school use background music?

Start with a space where the school already wants music. The appropriate room, volume and hours are decisions for your team. Music is optional: a room can stay silent while another plays.

These are listening suggestions, not promises about attention, behavior or learning. Hear all 8 stations on the station preview page and choose with your staff.

How does a staff member run the player?

A tablet or laptop connects to the room's speakers, opens the web player and joins using the access code. Label it with the space, such as Reception or Staff lounge, rather than a person's name. No microphone or student record is needed.

The administrator can see connected rooms in the Rooms panel and send play, pause, skip or station changes. Each device needs to stay on with the player open to receive commands. Most volume adjustments happen on the device or speakers. How eleMusic works explains output controls and browser differences.

Set a simple opening and closing routine. There is no automatic school-day schedule or bell integration today. After a device sleeps or restarts, a staff member may need to reopen the player and tap to begin sound. Keep operation with authorized adult staff, rather than distributing access codes to students.

What should IT check before we use it?

  1. Use the intended network

Test on the managed school network and the actual room device. A preview on a personal phone does not show whether the school's browser settings or network allow the player to stream.

  2. Check the speaker connection

A wired connection, Bluetooth speaker or existing amplifier may fit the room. Casting depends on the browser, receiver and network; test it with IT if that is your intended output.

  3. Test an ordinary day

Start, pause and change stations, then reopen the browser and wake the device from sleep. Check the room's status from the administrator's panel.

Can a school use the same plans as a dental office?

The catalog and device allowances do not change by sector. Solo, Practice and Clinic are the names of the three plans. A single computer feeding an amplifier counts as one device even if the speakers reach several rooms at that location; separate devices playing simultaneously each count. See current pricing and location rules.

The current Terms sell plans to businesses for their US premises. An adult must be authorized to accept them for the customer. If you are purchasing for a public school or district, or need a purchase order, invoice terms or a vendor agreement, talk with us before starting a subscription. We can review the request; this page does not mean those purchasing arrangements are already available. Standard checkout uses a payment card. New locations start with a 14-day trial. A card is required and nothing is due at checkout. A reminder goes to the billing email before the trial ends, and you can cancel in Manage billing or by emailing hello@elemusic.fm. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the card is charged the plan price when it ends.

Does the subscription include school events or videos?

The published permission is for ambient background playback inside the subscribed location through the eleMusic player. It does not include downloading music, adding it to videos, broadcasting it or using it at another location. Do not assume that the same subscription covers a performance or event; describe the intended use before buying. The playback terms set out the scope, and the Original Catalog Certificate describes the catalog and subscription without deciding your school's legal obligations.
